ReplyDeleteMy name is Sharon D. I am in the Phil 250-903 class at Bryant & Stratton North Campus. I am currently attending my second semester and my major is medical asst. I chose this career because for all of my life I loved to help people and work with the public. I decided that this would be a great way to do that and also have a pretty good career with job stability and good income. I decided to go back to school because I have worked in the retail and fast food industry since I was seventeen years old and knew the only way to pursue a career in what I wanted to truely do was to come back to school. I chose Bryant & Stratton College because after doing research on the background and all of the wonderful things that I heard about the school from others, they are a school of smaller classes, and they accommodate your needs to the best of their ability. I waited this long to go back to school because I am a single mother of an autistic son and had to wait until he was at a good age to tend to himself while I was at school. My first major goal in life is to raise my son to believe he can do anything he wants to as long as he puts his mind to it and over comes the obstacles that get in his way during his journey. I believe by me going back to school to pursue my dream to work in the medical field and juggling my hectic home life I am doing exactly that
ReplyDeleteMy name is Terri VR I am a second semester student at Bryant & Stratton taking Philosophy 250-903. I am majoring in Human Resources because I enjoy working with people and meeting their needs. I have been out of the work force for over 13 years raising my three children. I have been given this great opportunity by the Department of Education to attend school to better myself in a field that I know that I will do well in. One of my goals is to pay that forward. I would love to get into the Department of Social Services and help those who need assistance. Coming back to school has had its bonuses for my family too, I have been able to show my children that no matter what age you are you are constantly learning and hard work really does pay off.
ReplyDeleteHi, I’m Steven S. and I’m in the PHIL 250-902 class at Bryant & Stratton Syracuse North. I’m a Network Technology Major and I chose this field because I have a real passion for computers and Information Technology. I wanted to increase my chances of getting a job and wanted to be more flexible in the field. I enjoy using Microsoft PowerPoint and I enjoy singing and going to church. I decided to come to Bryant & Stratton because of the job placement and career services that they provide, and for the ability to learn new and updated skills and get certifications for the industry. I have other degrees, such as a Bachelor of Technology in Web Development from Morrisville, but it has been tough finding a job. So I’m here to learn more and become fully prepared in the working world of today. My eventual goal is become a college professor some day. This class should be interesting to learn more about how critical thinking can affect our everyday lives.
ReplyDeleteHi, my name is Lorraine S. I like to be called Lorrie. I am in PHIL 250-902. My major is Human Resources Specialist. I chose this major because I like to work with people and help them with training and development. With a good foundation and people you can talk to, work can be more than just a place you go to collect a paycheck. I chose to come back to school because I was feeling job burnout. I have worked for McDonald’s for 25 years and have worked my way through the ranks. I need a new challenge and I want to enjoy my family before life passes me by. Once I graduate from Bryant and Stratton College I would like to get my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and become a Vocational Counselor. I have been married for 23 years to my husband Joe and we have a daughter Lindsay and a son Adam. I am looking forward to all of the new things I will learn this semester.

My goal is to work in a pediatricians office and continue on to obtain my RN.
ReplyDeleteSome of my interests are reading, and listening to music, but my favorite of all is spending as much time as I can with my husband and four children.
Going back to school has allowed me to show my children that education is important at any age.
My name is Nancy M., Philosophy 250-901. After working for a communications company for 22 years I accepted early retirement, and this has allowed me to return to college after a long absence. Bryant and Stratton offer a Paralegal program. It’s close to home and I will graduate in less than two years. These were important considerations because I have two children. Matthew is 12 and Kathryn is 11. I am in my second semester of Paralegal Studies and I love it. Among my interests are reading, classic movies and jewelry.
ReplyDeleteHello, my name is Barbara C. I am in PHIL 250-901 on Mondays and Wednesdays at 0900. I chose paralegal studies as my major because I have had an interest in the legal profession for several years and there are good opportunities for employment in this field. I am returning to school because I can no longer drive tractor/trailers due to DOT regulations and need new job skills. I like playing the piano; my skill level is late elementary to early intermediate. I would like to get better at playing, but I do not want structured lessons.
ReplyDeleteMy name is Devon B. I am in PHIL 250-901 . My major is business, i chose business because i honestly thought that it was going to be the easiest one to do. i thought that by doing business i would fly through college and get my degree. Come to find out it is not all that easy, but i love it now. Outside of college, i am a volunteer firefighter, and a mom to a 13 month old baby girl. She is the reason that i am back in college. If i never had her, then i would not be back in school. she is my inspiration, and i want to give her everything i never got growing up. I hope to learn a lot. This is only my second semester, but i love it so far.

This is my second semester as a Paralegal and I could not be more happy with the major I’ve chosen.
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteMy name is Stacy W. and I am taking a PHIl 250 class. My major is in Administrative Assisting and I have been going to school here at Bryant & Stratton for the last couple years. I am a part-time student with a husband and 3 beautiful little boys at home. I was actually a stay at home mom for 7 years and decided that it was time for me to get out and continue with my education. I enjoy getting out of the house a couple days a week and doing something for myself. I will have one more semester after the completion of this one, which is very exciting. I enjoy camping, reading, and spending time with my family.
Hi! I am Sarah F. I am cuttently in my fourth semester at Bryant and Stratton and I am in the Phil 250-901 class. I am majoring in medical assisting, and chose Bryant and Stratton because I know a few people who have graduated, and they had nothing but good things to say about it. I am a mother of an almost 3 year old little boy that I love very much. When I first decided to come back to school, I had just lost my job as a home health aide for a private company because they began to go under. I went home after being let go, and asked myself what I was going to do the next day. Later that night I applied for Bryant and Stratton, and by 3 oclock the next day, I was enrolled to start in two weeks! It was a great decision for me, and I am looking forward to the last few classes I have to take.

ReplyDeleteHello: My name is Elizabeth O. I am in PHIL(250901). I am majoring in Medical Assisting, with the hopes of one day receiving my RN. I chose BSC, because the faculty and support systems within the school are much more student focused, than that of a community college. I want to be able to provide for my family. I want my daughter to be able to look up to me some day and be proud of what her mother is, rather than just be "okay" with it. When I am not studying, and trying to keep up with my assignments, I enjoy spending time with my family.
ReplyDeleteHi my name is Anna Z. I am in the PHIL 250-951 class at Bryant and Stratton North Campus. This is my third semester here and I am majoring in Accounting. I chose Accounting because I am good with numbers and enjoy seeing everything come together at the end of a project. One of my goals is to continue my education after I graduate from Bryant and Stratton. When I am not at school or doing homework I enjoy doing volunteer work at my church.

I came back to college after I realized how unhappy I was with my chosen profession, and wanted more options for myself. This is my fourth semester, and my majors are Business Administration/Accounting. At first, I chose Business Administration as my major because I knew I wanted to be in the field, however, I didn’t know exactly what I wanted to do. After taking Accounting Principles I, I discovered how much I truly enjoyed accounting and wanted to pursue it. Once I graduate from Bryant & Stratton, I hope to transfer to Le Moyne College to get my Bachelor’s degree in pursuit of becoming a CPA. ReplyDeleteHi, my name is Tynika R. I am in the Phil 250-951 class. I am currently in my third semester at Bryant & Stratton for Medical Assisting. I chose to come to Bryant & Stratton after hearing about it from a family member who recently attended. I enjoy this college due to the small classes and wonderful instructors. I chose to come to college so that in the future, I can have a stable job and support my daughter to the best of my ability. The reason for choosing my major as a Medical Assist is because I have many family members who have medical problems. I want to work in the medical field so that I am able to help other people that are in the same situation as some of my family members. Something unique about myself would be that I have a 3 1/2 year old daughter and her name is Kayleigh. She is the reason I chose to come to college. She tells me every day how proud she is that I'm going to school. A few of my goals would be to pass every class this semester with an A, get perfect attendance, and graduate on time in August. I am very happy that I chose to come to Bryant & Stratton and can't wait to learn new things from this class as well as my others. The evening classes they offer are convenient because it gives me time during the day to spend with my daughter.
ReplyDeleteHello, my name is Nicole H. I am in PHIL 250-901. I chose to come to Bryant & Stratton College because of my 18-year-old daughter. I chose this as my major because of job security, unfortunately there would always be people that need medical help. I have a 13-year-old daughter that is very athletic and plays for the 14U Renegades Silver Softball team. I enjoy watching her play, no matter what I have to do; I do not miss her games. This career choice will also benefit her because of the stability and the income due to softball being a very expensive sport.
